I'm just outside of Boston, and make for a great special friend

AFlower, I think you stated your wish perfectly. While it might not be for me, as I like a bit more time and emotional connection with my sexual partners, I have had what you described when it was perfect for me and the other men involved due to circumstances. Society still adheres to some strict interpretation of what is an acceptable sexual relationship. You and many others are making other forms of sexual relationships more acceptable. I hope I am, too. Good post and this is the second one I have read for the symposium so far. Good job of defining what you are looking for in a relationship.

But you know what it's like as you've heard the mantra- it's a sex site, meant to serve men and their demands for NSA Not all of us are like that and those words you use aren't bad words at all Pretty much all of what you say is well observed

I'm pretty much looking for that same exact thing darling... a separate and independent existence in which I can occasionally sexually collide with another person whom I care deeply for, but without all the romantic inclinations. Thoughts from the Garden...

There is something to be said about defining things. Naming them gives us power over world. I like the clarity that your perspective gives through your thoughts on a casual relationship. After all that is what it is. A relationship that has potential but is not taken to serious by either party involved. A friend with benefits is just a step down from a fully committed relationship. Every committed relationship included a partner that fulfilled the role of best friend in my life. That is what an FWB is. When a lot of people talk about it I think they are really talking about an acquaintance with benefits. Someone that respects their position and maintains a "casual relationship." There is room to grow but only if both parties want it.

the best sex is with someone you care enough about to want it to be good sex for them

You are absolutely correct. Monogamy is just one for a loving relationship. There are many other dynamics that work and function. Each with unique forms of love and respect.

- A perfectly encompassing idea behind the benefit of those kind of friends. Your wall of words definitely resonate a well reasoning thought that everyone should keep to mind with.

Beautifully expressed. One of my least favorite phrases is "NSA" for "No Strings Attached." If there's no attachment to another person, why wouldn't we just wank off with ourselves? The attachment may be fleeting but I think we all want to feel connected. Sex offers one of the most potent ways to do that. Thanks for writing and visiting my blog bipolybabe69

I think that it is only natural to find an equilibrium. Your approach is very fair I completely understand. No one wants to be alone. Love is hard to find for sure.

The amount of effort, exploration, heartache, and joy you've put into defining -- at least for now -- exactly what you want is very impressive. And while you didn't use the specific word respect in your post, the concept is definitely in there. I really like the raw sexuality of this piece. You've made it damned clear what your expectations for a sexual friendship (because, given the intimacy of some of the things you want, there would have to be friendship) are... And yes, multiple partners, even multiple sexual friends, are very possible! Thank you for this contribution to the virtual symposium!
