The Unfashionable Unicorn. A Poem

It's not fashionable
To say you want
To find a boyfriend.
It's not fashionable
To say you want
To find love
Even hoping
For a lover
Gets frowned upon.
You are supposed
To be carefree
With no strings attached.

Yada yada yada
Blah blah blah
I hear your point of view
I am taking note of it.

As much as it's been
Bandied about
To mean the rarest of rare
It does conjure
Something special
Something beautiful
And a sight to behold
Yes you might have guessed
The word to which
I am referring
It is that magical creature
Known as the unicorn.
That is what a lover
What a boyfriend
Sharing a love
With someone
Has become
The stuff of myth
And legend.

Once upon a time
Does the story fit
For nowadays
Reality is nowhere
Near it.
